Everything in nature moves according to the same simple laws of motion, often producing incredibly beautiful, sometimes highly complex, movements. When we take nature as an example and try consciously to move in a natural way, we experience great difficulties. We tend to use our superficial understanding of body mechanics and interfere with the unconscious, yet much more skilled, intelligence of our body.
Tai Ji offers a step by step method to go from deliberate interference to acting naturally. While merging with the intelligence of our body, we slowly enhance it. Our movement patterns first become conscious and then gradually change.
Moving according to the precise instructions of the Tai Chi form is the starting point. Understanding the underlying principles of those instructions and acting in harmony with them is the aim in advanced training.
